Natural Selection 2 alpha to be playable on July 26

Unknown Worlds, the developers of one of the most popular Half-Life mods Natural Selection finally set July 26 as the date for when their anticipated playable alpha build of Natural Selection 2 will be available for play.

Only those who have pre-ordered the special edition of Natural Selection 2 will have access to the download. Not only do you get access to play the alpha, but players will also receive exclusive all-black marine armor which will not be available after the date.

“We actively supported the original Natural Selection over a period of five years and 20 versions. We added 18 maps, new weapons, alien movement abilities and a new gameplay mode. Getting NS2 to a playable alpha state marks the beginning of a new journey for us – one that we intend to support just as much.”

“Instead of taking the big-company approach and not giving access to a game until it’s too late to make major changes, we wanted to give our fervent community early access so we can make the game the best it can be. We wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for our community and their support so it only seems right that we let them try NS2 at the earliest phase.”

There were over 12,000 special edition and regular edition pre-orders to date according to Unknown Worlds. If you haven’t already pre-ordered you can buy the NS2 standard edition for $19.95 and the special edition for $39.95 which in then Unknown Worlds will offer their eternal gratitude.
