James Bond : Bloodstone gets the first glimpse

We didn’t get a really good sense of how Bizarre Creations’ new James Bond title actually plays during its announcement trailer, or in the debut screens from yesterday. At face value, it’s another action-packed third-person shooter, but with 007 in the spotlight. Fast-forward to this morning when an off-screen video taken from yesterday’s London Activision press event hit the web, showing a near 7-minute live demo. Here's the vid,

Were you looking closely during that footage? It would appear Bizarre took some hints from Ubisoft’s Splinter Cell: Conviction, as I very clearly spy a mark & execute-esque gunplay feature. Not to mention the fast-paced cover movement and hand-to-hand combat. Not too shabby. And the visuals — I have to confess myself impressed. Didn’t expect that. Towards the end you can also get a feel for the excellent driving sections, which Bizarre are masters of, as well.

James Bond 007 : Bloodstone is scheduled for a fall release for the PC.
