You can play games By Using Only Your Mind ?

This holiday season will be a fight for motion controllers as PlayStation launches PS Move and Microsoft launches Kinect. Both devices will have you throwing yourself around and burning calories in the process. But what if instead of focusing on movement, we simply had to focus our mind on what to do in game?

Jedi Mind - (Yes, Real company name) has been developing thought controlled technologies that allow users to interact with their PC’s and other devices through the power of the mind. The technology, as you can imagine, would be very beneficial to users with disabilities and are unable to use conventional methods. Today Jedi Mind announced their new gaming application “Master Mind.” “Master Mind” allows you to play your favorite PC games like World of Warcraft and Call of Duty with the power of thought.

The user wears a wireless headset that reads your brainwaves and sends those signals to a USB receiver in the computer that allow the user to make any movement or action that they can normally make with a keyboard.

The Jedi Mind website lists the software download at $99, but it is not clear exactly how much the hardware costs. The website fails to list any information about the headset and the price or latency with the product. This most likely will not be something you see competing with PS Move or Kinect anytime soon, but it may be something to keep an “open mind” about in the future. Until then, I will need to focus on my ADD – I could see some real issues for me in the future and having to concentrate.

Here are a couple of vids demonstrating it :
