James Bond : Bloodstone Confirmed

Activision has confirmed the existence of Bizarre Creations’ James Bond: Blood Stone.

As rumoured earlier, the game is a mix of driving and action.

The news clarifies Gamepron’s overnight discovery of a post on an unofficial Eurythmics fan-site, of all places, outing the game.

David Pokress, Head of Marketing for Licensed Properties, Activision Publishing is quoted:

“James Bond 007: Blood Stone captures the cinematic intensity of a Bond film by immersing players in an intriguing conspiracy that will require them to think and act like James Bond.

In addition, the game will feature a diverse array of multi-player modes and debut strategic objective-based gameplay that will allow Xbox 360, PS3 and PC players to battle as teams of spies and mercenaries through authentic Bond locales.”

This was the title leaked by UK retailer HMV back in April.

The leak mentioned Bizarre as the developer and Activision as early last year.

The game is apparently centred on an “original Bond experience”.

There will be action outside of the car, however, with “lethal hand-to-hand combat, cover-based firefights and some impressively adrenaline-fuelled driving sequences,” and then some.

Multiplayer for 16 is also promised, although specifics weren’t dropped.

Daniel Craig and Judi Dench will return to their respective roles for the game as 007 and M, while singer Joss Stone will play the Bond Girl and drop vocals on the theme, which has been written by Eurythmics’ Dave Stewart.

Screenwriter for GoldenEye, The World is Not Enough and Tomorrow Never Dies, Bruce Feirstein, has been brought in to write the story.

PC is also the mentioned platform

Activision is holding a Bond-related press event in London today, maybe then we'll find out more later today, stay tuned.

Update : here's the trailer for it :
