Blizzard "Real ID" plot blamed on Korea

The internet went mental over Activision Blizzard's to put World of Warcraft users' real names on their official forum posts, and the word on the street is that Korea could be to blame.

Conspiracy theorists, via Kotaku, are speculating that Korean law could have been the cause - or at least a key influencing factor - in the decision to enforce the real names rule in the WoW forums.

Apparently, Korean law demands that any forum that gets more than 100,000 users per day has to make users display their real names on posts.

Here's how Blizzard explained the move: ""It's important to us to create a new and different kind of online gaming environment - one that's highly social, and which provides an ideal place for gamers to form long-lasting, meaningful relationships. All of our design decisions surrounding Real ID - including these forum changes - have been made with this goal in mind."

good thing it was'nt implemented.Don't you think ?
